The certificated staff has worked with the volunteers to ensure that the California Standards in curriculum are followed during the students time in the garden. Gardening lessons in science and math are much more fun when you can get your hands dirty, too!
A permanent 8 foot fence has been installed and it does enhance the garden and the deer and turkeys have not been seen in the garden.
Asparagus and potatoes were planted in the small boxes that were donated to the students. Sunflowers are so full of seeds that they now lean over. The students will be cutting the heads and let them dry and then enjoy the fruit of their labors.

September 2010
Cleo Lane and Sarah Kovarik were instrumental in updating and improving the school's front entrance.

They chose flowers that were compatible with the environment and provided a habitat for the butterflies, humming birds, wild finches and our pet garter snake who helps keep the bug population down.
This was last year's zucchini and cucumber patch This year's garden

The garden has provided 3 Hubbard squash and 8 pie pumpkins. The K-3rd grade class will use them to make their famous pumpkin pie. This is one tradition that everyone looks forward to eating.

Mrs. Sarah Kovarich will start Heirloom seedlings for this year's garden. She has selected several varities of tomatoes to begin with and has seeds for direct planting of radishes and carrots.
